H.R. 5600 the "District of Columbia Court, Offender Supervision, Parole, and Public Defender Employees Equity Act of 2008."
Immediately following the Business Meeting, the Subcommittee will hold an oversight hearing on the representation of women and minorities in executive level positions within legislative branch agencies.

Legislative hearing on H.R. 4272
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Federal Workforce, Postal Service, and the District of Colum (D) posted a Press Release on September 11, 2008 | 2:00 am - Original Item - Comments (View)The Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia will hold a legislative hearing on H.R. 4272, an Act "To amend chapter 15 of title 5, United States Code, to provide for an additional, limited exception to the provision prohibiting a State or local officer or employee from being a candidate for elective office."
The hearing will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The Subcommittee will examine recent legislative efforts, as proposed by H.R. 4272, to amend provisions of the Hatch Act to provide an exemption to Section 1502 (a) (3) of Chapter 15 of title 5, United States Code for persons in areas with a population of less than 100,000.

H.R.6322, a bill introduced by Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton on June 19, 2008, "to amend the District of Columbia School Reform Act of 1995 to permit the District of Columbia government to exercise authority over the Public Charter School Board in the same manner as the District government may exercise authority over other entities of the District government."
