Dodd Statement on CLASS Act Amendment

Senator Chris Dodd released the following statement today after the Senate passed Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's (D-RI) amendment in support of the CLASS Act and defeated a Republican attempt to strip the CLASS Act from the Senate health care reform bill.
"The CLASS Act will offer hope to Americans with serious illnesses or injuries who can maintain their independence with the help of long-term care," said Dodd. "And it will provide relief for their families, who too often are forced to set aside their own lives to care for their loved ones. It's a common-sense, fiscally-responsible, and pragmatic solution that will help millions of American families."
