Senator Reid today spoke on the Senate floor on the 47th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. In 1965, men and women set out to march from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery, calling for an end to discrimination and violence against African Americans. They were met at the Edmund Pettus Bridge by police dogs, fire hoses and billy clubs. |
