Stabenow Leads Letter to Baucus, Grassley Urging Inclusion of Manufacturing Tax Credit in Any Jobs Bill

President Obama has already called on Congress to expand the Section 48C program by giving the Treasury and Energy Departments another $5 billion in credit authority. The credit provides businesses with an incentive to create American jobs and produce renewable energy technologies such as solar panels, wind turbines, and advanced batteries here in America and creates clean energy jobs.

Stabenow Commemorates the 97th Birthday of Rosa Parks

That same year, she voted for, and Congress passed, legislation to place a statue of Rosa Parks in the U.S. Capitol. That statue has been commissioned and will soon join the many other great Americans who are commemorated there.

Stabenow: Japan's Cash for Clunkers Program Excludes Too Many American Vehicles
Debbie Stabenow's Senate Member Office (D-MI) posted a Press Release on February 4, 2010 | 7:59 pm - Original Item - Comments (View)Today, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow made the following statement regarding Japan's list of vehicles that qualify for its version of the "cash for clunkers program" (known in Japan as the Eco-Friendly Vehicle Purchase Program). Only a limited number of U.S. models qualify due to Japan's decision to use EPA "city" mileage ratings instead of EPA "combined city/highway" mileage ratings as the basis for determining eligibility.

Stabenow, Specter: China Continues to Deny Practice of Currency Manipulation

Senator Specter is the latest co-sponsor of Senator Stabenow's Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act. Stabenow's legislation provides a clear definition and methodology for determining currency manipulation which will help prevent foreign countries from gaining an unfair competitive advantage at the cost of American jobs.
